A graduate of the University of Paris Medical School, Dr. Mandrea served an internship at the Cincinnati Jewish Hospital. His dermatology residency training took place at Cincinnati General Hospital and at The Philadelphia Skin and Cancer Hospital.

Dr. Mandrea is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a former Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Illinois Medical School in Chicago, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, a member of the American Society for Laser Medecine and Surgery, a member of the International Society of Cosmetic Laser Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Phlebology.

Dr. Mandrea has been recognized on Castle and Connolly's list of Top Doctors for the Chicago metro area from 1999 through 2003
